Red Dress Embroidery Workshop | Conceptual Garment Design
DATE: 07.12.23A 6 hour workshop 10am - 4pm | 7th December 2023 at the RED DRESS STUDIO, SOMERSET.
Drawing on Kirstie’s earlier work, this class will examine the role of dress, it’s position throughout different stages of history, it’s complex relationship to the human body and mind, and how it can be used to communicate unspoken meaning and message.
We will look at relevant artists, designers and writers who have used dress to convey meaning, and think about how we use dress in our lives.
The practical element of the workshop will involve drawing, painting and sampling. **Please note this class is NOT for constructing garments, but purely focused on designing**
