SECTION OF DRESS: Blackbird
Nature inspired embroidery artist from the Welsh valleys.
Amanda has taken her influences from a variety of sources over her 35 years of stitching but currently living and working in West Wales the focus has been its birds bugs and buildings. Amanda hand embroiders onto canvas using two ply machine knitting wools, she draws out her designs working life size where possible.
The Blackbird on Kirstie's dress is a regular visitor to her kitchen window at Goat Street Gallery, St Davids, so he gets stitched regularly, along with his wife.
