Inspired by the embroidery created on The Red Dress artisans, the class will be guided to embroider a sampler with decorative stitches that can be used to adorn clothing and pieces of textiles.

FLORAL Embroidery
The multitude of posibilites in creating blooms through stitches is endless and exciting! From decorative to functional, ornante and detailed to simple and bold, the class will explore how to layer up stitches in different yarns to create vibrant motifs and striking designs.

Beaded embroidery
Inspired by the striking beaded embroidery on The Red Dress created by FanSina, a Bedouin social enterprise in the heart of the Sinai desert, the class will be guided to create a vibrant sampler of motifs with cotton and beads.

‘World textile Day’: Stitches from around the world
Alongside the exhibition of The Red Dress, Kirstie will be offering an embroidery workshop to create a sampler of beautiful stitches and motifs from around the world; including beaded Beduoin stars from Egypt, Otomi fill-stitch form Mexico and Lambani border motifs form India.
