SECTION OF DRESS: Creeping vine
Sewing from a Fairytale.
Liberty first met Kirstie as a student of the Foundation Course at the Royal School of Needlework, where Kirstie was a visiting tutor. A natural and enthusiastic stitcher Liberty can turn her hand to pretty much anything and has a wonderfully easeful way of creating imagery in thread. Impressed by her skill Kirstie invited Liberty to create another piece on the dress a year later.
This time, Liberty stitched a beautiful ‘couched’ vine built up in many layers of different shades of green thread, finished with pretty pink flowers created in glass beads.
