JAPAN | 2018SECTION OF DRESS: Go After Dreams Not People
A quirky embroiderer from Tokyo AKA ‘Bespoke Stitcher’ creates a colourful, poignant and dreamy Kimono.
First of all, big thanks for choosing me!
I started stitching in 2015, because one of my daughters asked me to sew a pattern on her T-shirt. From that, I found that this hobby is very fun and I wanted to do more on many things.
My red dress stitching idea came from my grandfather’s work. He did Kimono business and I am Japanese, so I wanted to stitch something in that type of significant pattern.
That is my short story about my work.
